Lead Developer

The "Lead Developer" focuses on conceptual and coordinating tasks. Like the "Application Development Specialist", the "Lead Developer" is also a qualification path that is open to software developers who want to take on additional specialist and coordinative responsibility. Both qualification paths should be viewed in parallel.
Further development into the position of "Lead Developer" is only possible if there is an operational need. A person wishing to develop in the direction of "Lead Developer" does not have to have previously reached the level of "Specialist Application Development Developer".

Tasks

• Coordination with internal and external customers regarding the concrete specification of requirements
• Technical responsibility and assurance for the tasks to be performed in the team
• Subproject management
• Coordination of a development team
• Coordination with other areas (e.g. ISI, IT operations, CBS)
• Independent and responsible processing of development tasks, even if these are not clearly described and there are no defined procedures for their implementation in the AE
• Lead the conceptual design of overall IT systems in cooperation with the teams
• Incorporation and evaluation of new technology stacks
• Familiarization with and evaluation of new tools for the software development process
• Preparation of necessary documentation for software development
• Creation of automatic and execution of manual software tests
• Handover of released software components to IT operations and support units
• Sparring partner for planning the ongoing qualification of team members
• Mentor for team members
• Follow-up on tasks that have been handed in and on whose results further progress depends
• Error analysis and troubleshooting for productive IT services within the scope of 3rd-level support

Qualification profile

• Completed studies with a focus on computer science or another technical, mathematical field or completed vocational training as an IT specialist
• At least 6 years of experience in software development
• Expert status in at least one technology stack used in AE
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture
• High social competence
