Inventory Control Manager

We are currently seeking an inventory control manager for an exciting position in Neu Wulmstorf, Germany. Here is the information about the position:

Job overview
Directly responsible for the inventory assets of the business and the documentation required to comply with company procedures. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining desired results. Interacts with internal/external customers in a team-based environment. Leading employees in the daily execution of the inventory procedures and the annual counting procedures.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manages and verifies that physical inventories and cycle counts are completed as required.
  • Establishes and maintains defined inventory procedures, processes and standards.
  • Makes process improvements, establishes/maintains control points, and assists in development of process flow changes.
  • Builds consensus with an extensive number and diversity of stakeholders.
  • Manages audits of all inventory/assets
  • Communicates department's progress, problems, and significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities to leadership.
  • Interacts with cross-functional management to resolve process issues affecting operations.
  • Provides written management reports as required. Maintains documentation as required.
  • Establishes, analyzes, and reports inventory accuracy metrics.
  • Sponsors root cause reduction projects.
  • Creates and interprets data outputs for trend analysis.
  • Issues Corrective Action Requests.
  • Reports summarized monthly cycle count results.
  • Assists in the maintenance of form control and authorizations (appropriate business purpose).
  • Manages department document control (standardized processes).
  • Facilitates removal, destruction, and documentation of scrap and obsolete inventory.
  • Interacts with Accounting and internal or external auditors.
  • Collaborates and implements continuous improvement programs.
  • Manages projects as assigned and performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company.

Your competencies

  • Experience working in SAP-environment with EWM, S/4 preferred and other ERP systems are accepted.
  • Track record of successful inventory control procedures.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including Kanban, Pull Systems and Theory of Constraints.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling such as MPS, JIT and Kanban
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.

Education and experience

  • Freight forwarding and logistics services clerk (preferred) or open to warehouse logistics
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in the field or a related area preferred.
  • Experience with a recognized international company a plus
